Hi Jackie, great question! For me, there's two; firstly, we're family owned, which I never thought would affect me, but it really does mean we're all encouraged to make decisions that are truly best for us and the business, not just for the profit margin in the next quarter. Secondly, and probably a bit selfish, but everyone knows Mars as a company, so it looks great on the CV (that's if you ever considered leaving anyway). Hopefully that helps :)

Hi Jackie, I think one of the main advantages is that Mars is so people-centric. There is a real feeling that the business, and those around you, truly care about you and your development. This means the atmosphere is very positive and makes coming to work all the more enjoyable!

I believe it's the endless opportunities the company provides! They really do let associates forge their own path and from early on in careers are involved in big discussions and 'owning' that responsibility. It's a global company, with roles in almost every job function imaginable and as long as it's something you are passionate about and willing to work hard, you could really set out to achieve everything you want!

For me it would be the personal connections that I have with my colleagues and the endless development opportunities. I like that I can really be myself at work and that I can share with my colleagues what is going on in my private life as well. We often go for a walk around the factory in the breaks and catch-up on whatever is going on. I also feel that I have some of my best friends at work which I really value highly. On the development opportunities I like the several roles I had within Mars which really stretched me every step on the way. The feedback culture is also something that I like a lot because it makes you learn more about yourself as a person.

Hi Jackie, thank you I love this question and to be honest the answers are endless. However I would say for me the 2 stand outs would be; 1, the breadth of career opportunity. At Mars we have a number of segments (Food, Petcare, Chocolate etc) which operate at a local, regional and global level so you could choose to stay in a function but move across segment or change function altogether or change the scope of your role. 2, the people. Everyone at Mars is personable and accessible no matter what level. Hope this helps :)
